MONDAY, OCTOBER 12

WAVE ’20-At-Home Opening Celebration

Streaming starts at 7:00 PM CT

Kick off Wave ’20-At-Home with our Tulane student broadcast anchors live from the
Wave ’20 Broadcast Headquarters inside the Bea Field Alumni House for Tulane’s first
ever, virtual celebration of Homecoming, Reunion and Family Week.

President Mike Fitts will launch the week with a presidential introduction and then we’ll
turn it over to award-winning actor and 1985 Tulane reunion celebrant, Bryan Batt.
Bryan will host the introduction of the 2020 Homecoming Court live from Tulane’s very
own Green Carpet.

The Tulane University Marching Band will give a festive performance sure to put all of
us in the spirit of the week. Plus we’ll get access to Tulane’s campus and the many
changes made to accommodate COVID-19 guidelines for social distancing. Tulane
junior Alex Suh will lead this insiders campus tour.

Lastly, no Homecoming week at Tulane can start without the time-honored tradition of
the Lighting of McAlister. But this year, we’re even amping up that tradition….tune-in
to see!

Lee Skinner, Dean of Newcomb-Tulane College, and Dusty Porter, Vice President for
Student Affairs, will moderate a panel of select upper-division students who will share
their internship, research, public service and campus leadership experiences.
Parents will gain insight on how to best support their students in making the most of
these kinds of enriching and transforming educational opportunities. Our featured
student panelists have a great variety of academic pursuits, career interests and
worthwhile experiences, that anyone eager to learn about today’s student experience at
Tulane will enjoy hearing.

The 4th annual Tulane fundraising concert is back over Homecoming week! Benefiting student scholarship support, the concert features a rock star line-up of New Orleans talent!

Tipping Point raises significant scholarship dollars to help Tulane attract and support the
promising young leaders whose contributions create a vibrant educational environment
on our campus and in our community. Proceeds from the event will benefit Tulane’s

promising young leaders.
